3) The anchor should be able to work continuously for 30 minutes at rated tension and rated speed, and for 2 minutes at an overload tension not less than 1.5 times the rated tension. In addition, the anchor should be equipped with an overload protection device, which can be converted to medium-speed operation under overload conditions.

4) The braking device on the windlass sprocket should work reliably and can brake 45% of the tensile force of the anchor chain-breaking load (when the free anchoring speed reaches 5-7.5m/s, the anchor chain can still be Outer edge brake); there should be a clutch between the sprocket and the load shaft. The windlass t; brakes and clutches should be easy and reliable to operate; the windlass should be able to rotate back and forth smoothly and quickly.

5) The installation of the anchor chain should ensure that the three eyes (chain drum, chain machine, sprocket) are in a straight line when pulling out the anchor chain.

There are two types of anchors, horizontal and vertical. Horizontal anchors are usually used in merchant ships. Vertical anchors are also called winches. The power part is located below the deck to save the deck area. Vertical anchors are often used on warships. In recent years, due to the large size of anchors, it is difficult to accommodate the bow deck and is not conducive to operations, so there are also vertical anchors.

 

Daily maintenance of anchors

 

1. Lubricating grease (SY1415-82) for rolling bearings and sliding bearings;

2. The gear meshing surface is lubricated with grease (SY1412-75).

3. Calcium-based grease L-XAA 3 (GB491) is used for screws, clutches, etc.

4. The oil cup should be filled with grease and the friction surface should be regularly lubricated.

5. All non-working surfaces of the windlass should be kept clean, and the exposed surfaces should be painted regularly to prevent rust.

6. Regularly check the parts for damage and loose fixing bolts.
