Structure and Function
A searchlight consists of a light source and a reflector, and usually includes one or more optical lenses in its front section. The light is first concentrated into a beam by a reflector (curved or spherical), controlled by the position and combination of optical lenses, and then projected.
Searchlight is mainly used in vehicle, film shooting, theater and building or exhibition lighting.

A luminaire in which the beam of light is concentrated at a very small solid Angle by means of a mirror or lens, thus obtaining a large light intensity. According to the international Lighting Commission, a searchlight is a projection lamp whose half peak slice Angle (the Angle between the maximum light intensity and 50% of the maximum light intensity in a plane passing through the maximum light intensity) is less than 2°. In about 1870, the searchlight with carbon arc lamp as light source appeared in the world. In World War II, searchlights were used mainly at night to search for targets for anti-aircraft guns. Modern searchlights are mainly used for ship navigation (such as Marine searchlights) and signal marking. The searchlight generally takes halogen tungsten lamp as the light source, but also takes ultra-high pressure mercury lamp, metal halide lamp and ultra-high pressure xenon lamp as the light source.

Lens type searchlight - the light source is placed in front of the spherical mirror, the lens is placed in front of the light source (flat inside and convex outside), so it is also called convex lens type searchlight (English abbreviation is PC). Larger versions of these searchlights can cause the glass to shatter because the convex lens is too thick. So a lens with a progressively smaller diameter is used to solve this problem. Lens searchlight can adjust the Angle of light by adjusting the distance between the light source and the lens.
